USAPA AND PPR ENTER MULTI-YEAR DEAL TO FOSTER COACHING CERTIFICATION

Earlier this month, USAPA announced a new multi-year agreement with the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). PPR, the newly formed subsidiary of Professional Tennis Registry (PTR), will become the Official Education and Certification Partner of USAPA.​

USAPA GOODWILL TRIP TO CHINA PROVES PICKLEBALL IS GOING GLOBAL

STRATEGIC ALLIANCE BETWEEN USA PICKLEBALL ASSOCIATION & AAU AIMS TO GROW THE SPORT OF PICKLEBALL

Last month, the USAPA and the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU), completed an agreement that had been over a year in the making. Earlier this year, AAU announced that the sport of pickleball had been added as one of AAU’s official sports with play opportunities soon being offered through their 55 U.S. districts.

- Membership continues to grow (as of 5/1/18 we have 25,114 members)
- We now have a partner agreement with AAU! We will be developing co-branded leagues and tournaments with AAU.  See the article on the AAU agreement in this newsletter.  
- The 2nd USAPA Pickleball University will be held in Colorado Springs, CO September 9-12, 2018.
- The Sid Williams Memorial Junior Pickleball Advancement Fund is now added to our donation page.
- Justin Maloof, USAPA Executive Director and Jack Thomas, USAPA President attended an expo in China. See the article in this issue of the newsletter.​

BOND OF CARING BETWEEN USAPA AND ST. JUDE CHILDREN'S RESEARCH HOSPITAL

In less than two short years, the USAPA has raised nearly $25,000 benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. With a partnership such as this, the hospital is able to fulfill their mission that families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – because all a family should ever worry about is helping their child live.

1st ANNUAL AMBASSADORS’ CHOICE TOURNAMENT

In what will prove to be the beginning of many special events in the future, the inaugural Ambassadors Choice Tournament was held in the USAPA’s West Region. Held at Eastern Oak Park, 12 Sacramento Valley Ambassadors and partners participated in this first-ever ambassadors-only competition.
