Dan Wolz Clean Water Education Grant -
Beginning in 2006, Michigan Water Environment Association has partnered with Michigan Science Teachers Association to identify exceptional science teachers in Michigan who are in need of financial assistance to execute a project within a curriculum that is focused on water environment issues. The ultimate goal of this grant is to heighten public awareness of the career opportunities our industry has to offer, and to improve the quality and quantity of Clean Water community education in Michigan's public schools. Dan Wolz was a true environmental steward of the earth. Thus, in recognition of the passion Dan had for education, this award continues to reach hundreds of Michigan students.

FLUSH Program by Michigan Water Environment Association
Have you ever wondered where the water comes from when you turn on your tap? Or, where it goes when you flush? MWEA is sending out a call to Michigan Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts to help us unravel the mystery through a new program called “FLUSH!” This unique program will answer those questions for Scouts and their parents by opening the critical drinking water and wastewater treatment facilities in local communities that are so important to maintaining fresh water resources. Scouts will be offered guided tours through water treatment plants in their area. During the tour, scouts and parents will have fun while learning about the science of water, water infrastructure, and the importance of this natural resource.
